What we mean by “AI agent”
Not a script-based chatbot. A modern AI agent is a program that receives a task in plain language, decides which tools to use, accesses the relevant data and returns a result. Under the hood — a large language model (GPT-4, Claude, Llama), a set of tools (database access, APIs, search), and an orchestrator (LangGraph, Pydantic AI, n8n) that ties everything into a reliable pipeline.

How we differ from off-the-shelf SaaS
Off-the-shelf chatbots (Intercom, Drift, etc.) cover routine well but have three problems for serious business:
- Data leaves to vendor’s cloud — for healthcare, finance, legal this is often a blocker
- Rigid scenarios — non-standard workflows are either impossible or cost as much as custom dev
- Cost grows with usage — at scale, subscription overtakes custom dev within 6-12 months

How we calculate ROI
On the 2-day audit we build a simple model:
- Current task cost — team hours × rate + opportunity cost (lost leads, no-shows, errors)

- Data isolation — secrets in Vault or Cloudflare Secrets, no tokens in code
- Local models for sensitive tasks — Llama 3 / Mistral on your GPU server, data never leaves perimeter
- Audit log — all dialogs and decisions logged, any case can be reviewed retrospectively
